Job Announcements and Deadlines

Happy Monday!  Below are jobs for Round 2 of Rotation.  NOTE that many positions have additional responsibilities this time around.

Camera and Floor Director:  Eduardo Puentes
News Director and Commercials:  Erick Sanchez
Audio and Cue Cards: Carlos Caraveo
Lighting Director and Commercials:  Daisy Aguilar
Graphics Prep and Technical Director: Killian Hoose
TriCaster Operator:  Ivan Nunez
Talent: Natalie Ortiz, Janesa Tena
Script Coding and Sports: Nydia Gutierrez

I've listed your jobs in the order that you would do them on any given day.  For example, after Daisy sets up lights, and Erick has coded and distributed the day's scripts, they would go to work on any Commercials that we have from clients (on the computers in the Studio).  Killian will spend the first portion of the day on a Studio computer preparing and uploading any Graphics needed for upcoming segments, then assume Technical Director responsibilities as soon as Eduardo tells him that the Floor is ready.

Your first Special Report (JROTC & New Teachers) is due this Friday, Nov. 21st!!!

Thursday, Nov. 13th

Sorry I'm not here with you, but you have an important task to complete. Today we need to pause and think about jobs.  You'll be starting your new job after Thanksgiving.

Here's what you'll do TODAY:

  • On your computer, open up a new file in Microsoft Word.  Write your name, period 5 and today's date.
  • Title the file "Job Application and Description".
  • You will write 2 short Paragraphs and number them "1" and "2".
  • For Paragraph 1:  Tell me what new job you are applying for in Rotation 2.  Then, in 2 or 3 sentences, tell me why you want that job and what makes you qualified to do that job.
  • For Paragraph 2:  Create a detailed description of your Current Rotation Job (what you're doing right now on the show), with a 2- to 3- sentence summary of the Job itself.  Include bullet points describing specific, daily responsibilities, like this:
    • Turn on lights
    • Make sandwiches
    • Sweep floor
    • Comb hair
  • Make sure you put them in the same order that you perform them on a daily basis.  Include all job duties from the start of the daily recording session until the end of recording.

SAVE your file to your Desktop.  Name it: JobAppName (your name, silly!).
EMAIL it to me as an attachment, to:    thomas_d@aps.edu
DO NOT SUBMIT A PRINTED COPY!!!!  Email ONLY!!!

This is due before you leave today.

When you're finished, meet with your team about scheduled activities, interviews, shooting and upcoming deadlines.  Decide who is editing your story, and download footage to their computer in iMovie.
